⭐ Top Rated: This type of earth is used as standard on some Yamaha and Honda motorcycles.
📦 In stock When the engine is running this would increase to between 14 and 15 Volts.
Yamaha and certain Honda motorcycle’s use a three-phase type system, with a permanent magnet instead of an electromagnet, to regulate the current from the alternator.
Rather than controlling the output from the alternator, the excess voltage would be dumped by means of heat transfer.
To improve the transfer of heat from the regulator/rectifier you can use a silicone heat sink compound which is placed on the back of the regulator/rectifier and on the mounting point. Both surfaces must be clean for better contact and heat transference.
Also, to improve the earth of the regulator/rectifier, a cable can be introduced on one of the mounting bolts and connected directly to the negative terminal of the battery (earth side). This would eliminate the unreliable arrangement of earth fittings that are connected to various parts of the frame or motorcycle that does not always work.
